Reflexology |
|
| |
Reflexology is a massage and pressure therapy applied to the feet and hands.
It is believed that the feet and hands represent a map of the whole body and when points on these areas are touched messages are sent from the nerves to the brain and then to the corresponding body area where stimulation occurs.
Reflexology can act as a stimulant, by increasing activity in a body system, or as a relaxant, enabling a person to unwind from their daily pressures and stresses.
The main aim of reflexology is to bring about the body’s natural balance, where all body parts are working effectively and in unison. |
|
| |
What Does Reflexology Feel Like?
Pressure point massage is applied to the feet , along with a calming relaxing massage. It rarely tickles as the massage is firm and at the same time deeply relaxing. Reflexology is very useful for people who have physical or emotional symptoms and turn to reflexology for relief.
Reflexology can help:-
bad backs, persistent headaches, stress, hip pain, pmt, neck pain and so many other conditions.

Maternity Reflexology |
|
| |
Reflexology has proven benefits for ladies who are pregnant and those trying to conceive.
There has been a huge increase in the amount of people seeking reflexology to alleviate pain and uncomfortable symptoms during pregnancy. Reflexology is completely safe and works on the basis that nerve endings in the feet supply messages to other parts of the body. A treatment offers relaxation as well as many other benefits and is even provided in some maternity hospital wards. Reflexology can be very beneficial in preparation for and during pregnancy as well as during the post-natal period. It can help lower blood pressure, help to ease discomfort from pregnancy-related conditions such as pelvic pain, sciatica, back ache, heartburn and swollen feet.

Pregnancy Massage |
|
| |
Massage in pregnancy can provide wonderful relief when postural changes impact the body.
I offer massage in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. It’s a wonderful time to relax to the gentle sounds of music in a warm and caring environment, even a time to catch up on sleep.
It’s also a time to get rid of tensions, especially in the shoulders, neck and back.
Generally, I massage the back, neck and shoulders but extra areas can also be included if decided upon. Some people have tight calves through cramp in pregnancy. This is one of those areas that can also be massaged. Other areas include the face and ‘the bump’.

Indian Head Massage |
|
| |
Indian Head Massage induces state of calm, peace and tranquillity and is wonderful for:
muscle tension, by dispersing toxins from tense and knotted muscles
stress
hair loss
skin problems
re-energising the body
improving mental alertness and concentration
improving blood circulation to the brain and stimulating the lymphatic system
boosting the immune system to help fend off disease and stress-related disorders

| |
Indian head massage is suitable for most people and the method of receiving a treatment is very simple. The recipient simply sits on a chair (or if this is not possible, lies on a couch) and relaxes. There is no need to remove any clothing and the use of traditional oil for the hair is optional.
Indian head massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system, practised all over India for thousands of years. It works on both physical and mental states, focusing on the upper body, back, shoulders, neck and head and all areas prone to tension and stress-related illness.
